GCMS Communication Best Practices

Posted Date: 8/15/25 (3:45 PM)

2025-2026 is here and we are super excited to have everyone coming back next week.  Every year we start anew and some things are the same and many things evolve.  This year is no exception.

The biggest news around GCMS is the addition and migration to Parent Square for our communications platform.  This new tool will be the primary driver for communications and information sharing from us to you, and for you to access us.   Email and phone calls to the school will still work but Parent Square is the hub of information.  ALL GCMS staff have been trained on this new platform and will solely be using this for student, parent, and family communications.  This new, necessary, and appropriate boundary will allow for consistent and reliable communication in a controlled and monitored platform.  Social media is still a part of our communication platform but it will NOT be used for essential announcements or communications, that will all be done through Parent Square.

Speaking of Social Media, stay tuned because we intend to use it to brag on our kids, programs, staff, and accomplishments.  The platforms aren't going away but we are narrowing their scope and overseeing their use.  Welcome to Ms. Susan Riley who was recently hired to facilitate this change, and work with public relations alongside Walker Willis our Director of Instructional Technology to share our story.

We are here to serve the students of GCMS and look forward to using this new system to communicate routinely, openly, and honestly to best serve kids.

Attached you will see an infographic of all the avenues for communication that we will utilize and their uses.  Should you have questions do not hesitate to ask as we navigate this change.

2025-2026 is going to be an amazing year and we look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday, August 20 for opportunity #1!

Sincerely,

Jeremy Darnell
